Making Tired Eyes Smile®, Creative Expressions for Seniors with Alzheimer’s

This language arts system invites and teaches a facilitator the art of creating stories and composing poetry with seniors who sit on the edge of memories. The language arts system marshals the energies of a circle of friends with Alzheimer’s to sweetly and succinctly capture creative thoughts.

A facilitator within a circle of friends fosters a soft and safe place for our friends to contribute thoughts and feelings. Each word, phrase, sentence is unconditionally recorded. Every ripple of laughter is multiplied as it spreads around the friends with fading memories. Old familiar storylines prompt a touch with the glory of meeting something so ordinary, so everyday that for moments the memory loss evaporates.

Visit the details of this language arts system and see how spirits still soar midst the slipping memories. Volunteer to facilitate a circle of friends in your community.
